Masculine Thank you card with matching Envelope

Hey...have you ever wondered if the same technique used on a card will work on an envelope-the answer is a resounding...YES! CutCardStock envelopes and Basis white card stock hold up well to Distress Oxide inks and water...who knew? I made this set with a masculine feel...guy designs are so hard...no pink glitter, rhinestones and sequins? Darn-Say it isn't so....that being said...I love the look of this set...distressed and funky. Thanks for stopping by...Lee-Ann Kubinec

-choose your supplies

-Cut a piece of Basis white cover stock with a 4x5.25" Stitched Rectangle die(mine is from Jaded Blossom) I used my Vagabond die machine for all my die cutting.
-Next blend on a little fossilized amber Distress Oxide ink with a Ranger Mini Blending tool

-Spray the blended ink with a Ranger Distress sprayer...then dry it with your heat gun(mine is a Marvy) this will cause the ink to oxidize...

-Here is the card front after being dried...

-now stamp your chosen images onto your ink blended background...mine are the Spiral Circle stamp set from Jaded Blossom...I stamped the first image with Peeled paint Distress oxide ink(this will match my chosen card base-Olive Basis Card stock from CutCardStock...then I spritz the stamped images with water and dry them again with my heat tool. I try to stamp my images in groups of three for a pleasing effect

-Next I repeat the process with Faded Jean Distress Oxide ink...

-Next I repeat the process with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink...

-Next I repeat the process with Broken China Distress Oxide ink...so to review...we stamp-spritz(which moves the ink) with water and then dry with a heat tool

-I also did the same thing with a White A2 70# text envelope from Cut Card Stock...same steps as above to give me a matching envelope

-I then cut a 8.5x11" piece of Olive Basis Card stock(from CutCardStock) in half vertically and score it in the center to make a vertical A2 sized top folding card base...I also grabbed a word die(mine is Thanks-from Jaded Blossom) and cut it 3 x from the Olive Basis Card stock

-my 3 word dies cut out...I glued all 3 of these dies stacked on top of each other to give my sentiment dimension

-I then ironed my card base and envelope in between sheets of typing paper as paper can warp after being wet...

-all flat and pretty...ready for my card base...

-I then applied EK Success powder tool to my card front to avoid static and then stamped another image 3x on my card base using Versamark ink...I then applied Platinum Embossing powder from Ranger and Heated it until melted with my Marvy Heat tool...love the sparkle...hmmm...I then decided that I needed more of that platinum along the edges of the piece so I swiped the Versamark ink pad along the edges of the rectangle and then applied the embossing powder and heat set it...

-LOVE how the envelop matches my card...

-Here I have applied my card front to my Olive Basis Card stock base using foam tape for dimension...glued my Thanks die cut to the front of my card using Ranger Multi Mat Medium glue...and for an embellishment...Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bottle Green...coincidentally...Bottle green Nuvo Drops and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink match the Olive Basis Card stock perfectly...LOVE!

  5. Vey cool! How do you like the oxides? I saw them at the Scrapbook Expo, but didn't get any yet. Love that you added a pictorial...those are the best. Easy to follow along and try the technique too.
