With Sympathy

The ultimate "Thinking of you" card is a sympathy card. I hate to make one when I need one...I prefer to make a bunch of them assembly style...and keep them on hand for when one is needed. I used CutCardStock.com's FABULOUS Classic Crest Natural White Linen card stock-precut by the store in 4.25x5.5" pieces...so handy and on sale this month. The card bases were constructed with Environmental Desert storm 80lb card stock. I used the exact same stamping and die cuts for every card...I just used different ink combinations. There are 6 different cards to check out... Thanks for stopping by...Lee-Ann Kubinec :)

Pictorial:

-Choose your card stock-Classic Crest Natural White Linen 80lb cover card stock, Environmental Desert Storm 80lb card stock(make an A2 size vertical card base...)

-Choose your dies, a 4x5.25" stitched rectangle and a label die(mine are both from Jaded Blossom)...use both and cut your classic crest natural white card stock...add a full sheet of it to the front of the Environmental card base that you've made...so it looks like a cream card.(I use a Vagabond die cutting machine for my diecutting)

-Choose your stamps-2 flowers and a sentiment from Jaded Blossom. Stamp the sentiment onto the label with an acrylic black and Versafine onyx black ink

-Choose your inks-I chose Altenew ink cube sets and stamped light to dark in a pleasing arrangement.

-Add your stamped panel to the card front with ATG tape...or your chosen adhesive...add your sentiment label to front of the card with foam tape for dimension...I then added Nuvo Crystal drops to the centers of the flowers as an embellishment.

here are some other colour combos...

Tutorial
-Choose your paper products

-choose your stamps and dies-mine are from Jaded Blossom

-Cut the Classic Linen card stock with your dies-coffee dies and a 2 3/4"x4" Stitched Rectangle and a 3 1/4x4 1/2" Scallop Rectangle. I use my Vagabond die cutting machine.

-I also cut a heart die with the linen card stock along with a coffee wrap die with the Tindalo woodgrain card stock

-I ink blended 3 colours on my scallop rectangle background, the heart, coffee cup using my Distress Oxide inks and Distress ink blending tools and sponges, I then sprayed them with the Distress Sprayer with water to distress the ink blending...waited a few minutes then soaked up the droplets with a paper towel

-I then stamped my greeting repeatedly with the same oxide inks and an acrylic stamp block

-I cut the Tindalo Woodgrain card stock in half vertically with my Tonic trimmer and scored it at 5.5" with my teflon bone folder and my Martha Stewart score board to make an A2 vertical card base, attached my layers with foam tape...assembled my coffee cup with Nuvo Glue and added a hem bow with multi medium mat glue...then added Nuvo Crystal Drops to embellish.

Love with CutCardStock.com

It's time to share a little love with the world...Valentine's day is just around the corner...and I have another non traditional Valentine to share that I made with my new favorite color-Gravity Grape Astrobright-LOVE! The perfect purple! It's also on sale this month at CutCardStock.com. I saw a card on Instagram that had paper weaving on it...and I thought to myself-Lee-Ann-you have never done that-why? I decided to give weaving a try and loved the outcome-great texture and it adds a lot of interest to your focal point...the heart. Thanks for stopping by...Lee-Ann :)

Tutorial:

-choose your products(CutCardStock.com)

-choose your dies and stamps(mine are from Jaded Blossom)

-cut a 4.25x11" piece of Basis white cover stock and score at 5.5" to make a vertical A2 size card base-cut a 4x5.25" rectangle of black eclipse Astrobright card stock using a die, then cut a heart centered in the upper portion of card...then cut strips of card stock...or use border dies like I did here
-I use a Vagabond die cutting machine to cut all my dies

-I then used my black card stock piece with the heart cut as a stencil and traced the heart on my card base...this gives me a spot to make sure my weaving will fill the whole heart-I just weave like you do in kindergarten...I stuck with stripes instead of a checker board-I alternated the widths for some interest

-I then snipped of the edges of the stripes and glued the edges down using Nuvo glue

-I chose a sentiment and 2 stamps that look like decorative tape and positioned them on my card front(after I dusted the entire from with my EK Success powder tool to avoid stray embossing powder) and stamped with versamark ink using my Misti...then sprikled with Ranger embossing powder and melted the powder with my Marvy Heat tool

-I then attached my card from to the base with foam tape for some dimention

-I then cut some small heart dies with my Vagabond and Gravity Grape card stock and applied them in a visual triangle...and then added some Nuvo drops
